6th March
LGBT Karaoke at Thomas of York, LGBT friendly Karaoke at Thomas of York from 8:30pm onwards – free entry

7th March
Rainbow – a LGBT mental health peer support group in conjunction with York Peer Support Group at Briar House, Address Club Chambers, Museum Street York North Yorkshire York YO1 7DN United Kingdom 4pm – 6pm event is free

9th March
Forum’s Open Meeting, York St John University, De Grey 109 7pm – 9:30pm. Come and see what we are doing!

10th March
Fundraiser for the Lord Mayor Charities (York LGBT Forum, York Racial Equality Network, St Nicks and York Civic Trust) Music for Good. Doors open at 7pm, music will start at 7:30pm. St Nicks’ very own David Hammond, who is a very talented pianist, and his friends are putting together a musical programme to delight supporters of the Lord Mayor’s charities: St Nicks, York Racial Equality Network, York LGBT Forum and York Civic Trust.

The evening will include music by:

  • Benjamin Britten
  • local composer Andrew Carter
  • Leonard Bernstein
  • Francis Poulenc
  • Scott Joplin

Other performers will be: cellist Catherine Strachan, soprano Lucy Jubb and Charlotte Pugh on treble recorder. You can find information about some of them below.

Light refreshments will be on offer including hot and alcoholic drinks.

Entry: Pay As You Feel donation – if you enjoy the evening, please be as generous as you can. All proceeds will go to the Lord Mayor’s charities.

11th March – Photography course 

A short course introducing basic photography skills with S’ana a photography tutor. 6 sessions, 2nd Saturday of the month 1:30pm – 5pm. With the end aim to have an exhibition from photos taken at York Pride 2017. Bring your own digital camera, can be a basic digital camera.
11th March: Light and Exposure
8th April: Decisive Moment and Shutter Speed
13th May: Prep for pride, demo on framing
10th June: York Pride
8th July: Exhibition and celebratory BBQ

Thrilling, heartbreaking and darkly humorous by turns, Vincent River explores the classic Ridley themes of loss, sexual identity, the family as a destructive force and the redemptive power of storytelling. – Trans social night 10pm – late
Fundraiser for the Lord Mayor Charities (York LGBT Forum, York Racial Equality Network, St Nicks and York Civic Trust) – Carry on Frankie – Live bands and impressions of Frankie Howerd. Come dressed as your favourite “Carry On” character. There will be a prize! Prizes too for the best Sid James laugh. £3 admission, although there will be an additional raffle on the night. 100 tickets. At the Winning Post, 127 – 129 Bishopthorpe Road.
