February Events

February is LGBT History Month and this month it is packed full of events. Please find the link to the website and the programme below! there is something going on every day.

Three people from the committee are giving talks, Emily is giving an interactive talk about Queerbating in the media 8th Feb 18:15 – 19:45 at University of York, Derwent College, D/L/047. Lisa and Jake are giving a talk about local LGBT history, changes in the law, being BME and LGBT and trans experience.  12th Feb, 16:00 – 19:00 at Briar House, Club Chambers, Museum Street, YO1 7DN

3rd Feb
York LGBT History Month Launch, music, quiz talks going be a great night. York St John University are proud to host the launch event for ‘York LGBT History Month’. The evening will celebrate the start of a month of exciting activity. The launch will have live music, films, speeches plus an opportunity to network with local LGBT Organisations. Rainbow – a LGBT mental health peer support group in conjuction with York Peer Support Group at Briar House, Address Club Chambers, Museum Street York North Yorkshire York YO1 7DN United Kingdom 4pm – 6pm event is free

8th Feb

Forum’s Open Meeting, York St John University, De Grey 109 7pm – 9:30pm. Come and see what we are doing!

11th Feb
A short course introducing basic photography skills with S’ana a photography tutor. 6 sessions, 2nd Saturday of the month 1:30pm – 5pm. With the end aim to have an exhibition from photos taken at York Pride 2017. Bring your own digital camera, can be a basic digital camera.

– 11am – 4pm- Art Group at York Art Gallery Cast-Off Drama are running a performance-making programme in response to the Flesh exhibition at York Art Gallery – free entry mention Queer Sunday’s the workshop is upstairs
